Benzene Bots
WHO ARE THE BENZENE BOTS?
We are a team of passionate students from the International Academy East in Troy, MI, who share a common love for STEM and robotics. Our journey began with a desire to create a name that would embody our love for the scientific world. After much brainstorming, the chemical compound Benzene stood out to us as the perfect name. As chemistry students, we were fascinated by Benzene's properties - its colorless or light yellow liquid state, its sweet odor, and its high flammability, which gave us our slogan, "SWEET BUT DEADLY."

The Benzene Bots are more than just a team - we're a community. Our members come from different backgrounds, bringing with them diverse ideas, experiences, and perspectives. What binds us together is our unwavering commitment to increase the number of people involved in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) and inspire and support students in STEM fields.

At the core of our team is the belief that communication and cooperation are vital to achieving success. We recognize that each member of our team brings unique strengths and abilities, and we strive to work collaboratively to achieve our goals. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism and responsibility, both in our interactions with team members and in our representation of our team in the wider community.

We strongly believe that STEM learning should be accessible to everyone. To that end, we are dedicated to making STEM education accessible to all, regardless of socio-economic status, race, gender, or background. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and contribute.

Safety is our top priority, and we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all members of our team. We adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, both during our meetings and competitions. We believe that creating a safe environment is essential to achieving our goals and building a strong community.

Ultimately, our mission is not just to inspire students and interest them in the STEM field, but also to prepare them for the work world and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful. We believe that robotics is an excellent tool for developing skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, all of which are essential in the work world.
